Behaviour Mentor

Hackney

£100 - £120 Per Day PAYE! Depending on experience

April 2026

If you are a resilient person who is looking for a new, challenging role supporting young people with behaviour and social, emotional and mental health needs, then this is the role for you!

A specialist provision in central London is seeking a Behaviour Mentor to join their team from April 2026 and September 2026. The setting supports primary and secondary students who are unable to attend mainstream education, often due to challenging behaviour or social, emotional and mental health needs. For many of the young people, the provision offers a fresh opportunity to rebuild confidence in learning and develop more positive relationships with education.

In this role, you would work closely with small groups of students, with class sizes of no more than six. Support may take place one-to-one or within the classroom, helping students manage their behaviour, engage with their learning and develop important social and emotional skills. Building trust and positive relationships is a key part of the role, as many students benefit from consistent encouragement and support.

The position would suit someone who is resilient, patient and passionate about helping young people overcome barriers. Previous experience working with SEMH and behavioural challenges in a school or similar setting is beneficial. Interests such as sports, music or creative activities can also be valuable in connecting with students.
