In this Behaviour Mentor role, you will not just be supporting learning, you will be helping young people rebuild trust, regulate emotions and rediscover a sense of direction.

This specialist alternative provision in Cricklewood works with secondary pupils who have experienced barriers such as exclusion, disrupted education and social, emotional and mental health challenges. Many arrive disengaged from school life, but through structure, consistency and strong relationships, they begin to re-engage, rebuild confidence and achieve meaningful progress.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will be a key part of that journey.

What your day could look like

No two days are the same, but your impact will be consistent.

  • Meeting pupils at the start of the day, setting a calm and positive tone

  • Supporting students in lessons to stay engaged and manage behaviour

  • Providing 1:1 mentoring for pupils who need additional emotional support

  • Helping students navigate transitions, break times and social situations

  • De-escalating challenging behaviour using a calm, trauma-informed approach

  • Reinforcing routines, boundaries and positive behaviour choices

  • Working alongside teachers and pastoral staff to maintain consistency

  • Celebrating small wins that build confidence and long-term change

  • Experience in SEMH, behaviour support, youth work, alternative provision or care settings

  • A genuine passion for helping young people re-engage with education

  • Commitment to a long term, full time role where relationships are key
