Are you someone who wants to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people every single day? Do you have the patience, empathy, and resilience to support pupils through both their challenges and their successes?

If so, this could be a truly rewarding opportunity for you.

Parker Smith Inclusion is proud to be partnering with a forward-thinking and rapidly growing specialist school in Witham. This welcoming and nurturing setting supports pupils aged 4–19 with a wide range of additional needs, including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and SLD, as well as those who may experience emotional dysregulation.

The school has built a strong reputation for its caring ethos and its commitment to personalised support, ensuring every pupil feels safe, understood, and able to reach their full potential.

About the Role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you’ll play an incredibly important role within the school. You’ll be supporting pupils on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis, both in and out of the classroom, helping them to manage their emotions, stay engaged with learning, and grow in confidence.

Working closely with teachers, SEND specialists, and therapeutic teams, you’ll follow tailored learning and behaviour plans to provide consistent, structured, and compassionate support throughout the day.

This is a role where no two days are the same — but every day offers the chance to positively impact a young person’s journey.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Building strong, positive, and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Supporting children and young people with emotional regulation and challenging situations
  • Following personalised strategies set by SEND and therapy teams
  • Encouraging engagement in learning and promoting independence
  • Working closely with teachers, support staff, and external professionals
  • Staying calm, patient, and consistent in a fast-paced environment
  • Providing personal care when required
  • Being flexible and supporting across different areas of the school

You’ll become a key and familiar presence in each pupil’s day — someone they can rely on, trust, and learn from.

What the School Offers

  • A comprehensive five-day induction to help you feel confident from day one
  • The opportunity to shadow experienced staff and learn best practices
  • Ongoing training and development, including manual handling and ABA qualifications
  • A supportive, inclusive, and highly specialised environment
  • Clear opportunities for career progression within SEND education

Who This Role Would Suit

This position is ideal for graduates looking to start a career in education, individuals considering teacher training, educational psychology, therapy, or social care, experienced SEND professionals wanting to build on their skills, or anyone with a genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.

If you’re compassionate, motivated, and ready to make a lasting impact, this could be the perfect next step for you.

Apply today or get in touch with Harry at Parker Smith Inclusion to find out more — we’d love to hear from you.
