Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people?

Do you have the patience, empathy, and resilience to support pupils through both their challenges and achievements?

If so, this could be a genuinely rewarding opportunity.

Parker Smith Inclusion is working in partnership with a forward-thinking specialist school in Camden that is continuing to grow. The school provides a supportive and nurturing environment for pupils aged 4–19 with a range of additional needs, including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, and SLD, as well as students who may experience emotional regulation challenges.

The school prides itself on its inclusive ethos and personalised approach, ensuring every pupil feels safe, valued, and supported to reach their full potential.

The Role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting pupils both in and outside of the classroom. You will typically work 1:1 or 2:1 with students, helping them regulate emotions, stay engaged in learning, and build confidence.

You will work closely with teachers, SEND specialists, and therapeutic staff, following individual learning and behaviour plans to provide structured and consistent support throughout the school day.

No two days are the same, but every day offers the opportunity to have a meaningful impact on a young person’s development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Supporting children and young people with emotional regulation
  • Implementing strategies from SEND and therapy teams
  • Encouraging engagement in learning and promoting independence
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and external professionals
  • Remaining calm, patient, and consistent in challenging situations
  • Providing personal care when required
  • Supporting pupils across different areas of the school where needed

You will become a consistent and supportive presence in each pupil’s day, someone they can rely on and learn from.

What the School Offers

  • A comprehensive five-day induction programme
  • Opportunities to shadow experienced staff and learn best practices
  • Ongoing training and development, including manual handling and ABA training
  • A supportive and inclusive school environment
  • Clear career progression opportunities within SEND education

Who This Role Would Suit

This role would suit graduates looking to start a career in education, individuals considering teacher training, educational psychology, therapy, or social care, experienced SEND professionals looking to build on their skills, or anyone with a genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.

If you are compassionate, motivated, and ready to make a real difference, we would love to hear from you.
