Are you ready to make a difference to young people's lives who are struggling with social, emotional mental health?
A Secondary specialist school that has been noticed as providing a 'safety net' for the support and care of its students are seeking a compassionate and skilled individual to join their dedicated team as a Behaviour Mentor. This schools builds the lives of the next generations by incorporating a creative curriculum to engage their students, encouraging independence to develop their social and academic skills. You will join in delivering a tailored and trauma informed practice to fulfill the needs of young learner's aged 11-18 who have complex needs due to adverse experiences, including SEMH, autism and ADHD.
About the Role
- Identify indicators of emotional distress and utilise crisis management to de-escalate in a calm manner
- Use a trauma-informed approach to understand challenging behaviour
- Deliver 1:1 structured sessions that focus on emotion regulation, self-esteem and decision-making
- Work closely with the DSL and Welfare Team to support tailored EHCPs
About You
- Be a stable and positive role model that can maintain clear boundaries while offering diligent care and support
- Experienced working with young people who display challenging behaviour or SEND
- Build rapport with young people who require patience
- A qualification in Youth Work, Mentoring or Social Care would be desirable
