Parker Smith Inclusion is proud to be partnering with a welcoming and supportive specialist alternative provision in Harlow that is dedicated to helping young people get back on track with their education.

This provision plays a vital role in supporting students who have experienced challenges in mainstream school, including exclusion, and are now being guided towards a successful return. As a Behaviour Mentor, you’ll be working across both primary and secondary age groups, supporting pupils from early learning right through to GCSE level.

You’ll play an important part in helping students rebuild confidence, develop positive behaviours, and re-engage with learning in a safe and structured environment. The setting is nurturing, relationship-focused, and committed to giving every young person the support they need to move forward and succeed.

About the Provision

This alternative provision supports pupils who have been excluded from mainstream education and are working towards successful reintegration. Students are supported across a range of abilities, from primary level through to GCSE, with a strong focus on emotional regulation, engagement, and positive behaviour support.

The Role

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:

  • Support students on a 1:1 and small-group basis
  • Work with pupils displaying SEMH needs and dysregulated behaviour
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students
  • Support learning and engagement across primary and secondary (GCSE) level
  • Help students develop strategies to manage behaviour and emotions
  • Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support reintegration plans

Who We’re Looking For

This role would suit someone who:

  • Has experience working with SEMH, challenging or dysregulated behaviour
  • Is confident supporting pupils who have experienced exclusion
  • Is calm, resilient, and relationship-focused
  • Is passionate about helping young people re-engage with education
  • Has experience in alternative provision, SEN, youth work, or similar settings
