Behaviour Mentor – SEMH | Barnet

Behaviour is often communication.
A pupil who refuses a lesson, walks out of a classroom or reacts strongly to a situation may be communicating something they do not yet have the skills or confidence to express differently.
Parker Smith Inclusion is recruiting a Behaviour Mentor in Barnet to support children and young people who require additional help with engagement, emotional regulation and behaviour.
This role would particularly suit someone who can remain calm under pressure, build relationships gradually and maintain clear boundaries without becoming confrontational.

Why behaviour mentoring?
The role is not about being the strictest adult in the room.
Successful behaviour mentors are often those who can combine warmth with clear expectations and understand that trust is built through consistency over time.
Helping a young person return to learning, repair a relationship or manage a situation differently can have a lasting impact on their education.
