Parker Smith Inclusion is proud to be supporting a growing specialist school in Witham as it expands its provision. The school supports pupils aged 4–19 with a range of complex SEND needs, including ASC, ADHD, SEMH, SLD, and pupils who may present with dysregulated behaviour.

The school is well known for its compassionate approachstructured routines, and highly personalised support, ensuring every pupil can access learning within a safe, nurturing environment.

The Role

We are seeking reliable, empathetic, and energetic Behaviour Mentors who are passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs.

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work with pupils on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis, in line with individual support plans. Your primary focus will be to help pupils regulate emotionsmanage behaviour, and engage positively with learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour management
  • Following personalised support plans created by the SEND and therapeutic teams
  • Supporting pupils during learning activities and maintaining engagement
  • Encouraging independence and reinforcing positive behaviour
  • Working closely with teachers and support staff to ensure consistency
  • Supporting personal care when required
  • Being flexible and willing to work across different areas of the school

Your role will be central to creating a safe, structured, and nurturing environment, where pupils can thrive both academically and emotionally.

Training and Development

The school is highly committed to staff development and offers:

  • A comprehensive five-day induction at the start of term
  • Opportunities to shadow experienced staff to learn routines and strategies
  • Ongoing training, including manual handling
  • The opportunity to work towards ABA qualifications
  • Support from a friendly, experienced, and collaborative team
