Contract: Full Time, Temp to Perm | Start: Immediate

Support a Child, Change a Life

We’re looking for a caring and patient SEND 2:1 Learning Support Assistant to support a Year 3 child with autism who is non-verbal. This is a unique, hands-on role where your support can make a real, visible difference every single day.

You will work one-to-one, helping the child access learning, build independence, and navigate their school day in a safe, structured, and nurturing environment. From celebrating small achievements to guiding them through daily routines, your role is central to their confidence, emotional wellbeing, and sense of success.

What You’ll Do

  • Work closely with the child, teachers, and therapists to deliver personalised support

  • Support communication through alternative and augmentative methods

  • Help the child manage behaviour, transitions, and daily routines calmly and consistently

  • Encourage independence and life skills in a safe, predictable environment

  • Observe, record, and report progress, behaviours, and needs accurately and thoughtfully

Who You Are

  • Experienced supporting children with autism or complex communication needs

  • Calm, patient, and consistent, with a deep understanding of ASD

  • Confident handling challenging behaviour without judgement

  • Compassionate, proactive, and committed to helping the child thrive socially and academically

  • Enjoys collaborating with teachers, therapists, and parents to provide truly holistic support

Why This Role Matters

This isn’t just another job – it’s a chance to make a life-changing impact. Every interaction, every small win, every smile matters. Your care and support can help a child communicate, feel safe, and achieve in ways they may never have before. This is hands-on, meaningful work that you can see the results of every day.
