Be the Support That Changes a Child’s School Experience
We are seeking a committed and compassionate SEND Learning Support Assistant to work 2:1 with a Year 3 pupil with autism who is non verbal. This role suits someone who understands that progress is built through patience, consistency, and truly knowing the child you support.
You will play a vital role in helping the pupil feel safe, regulated, and able to access learning throughout the school day. Your support will help build communication, independence, and confidence within a calm and structured setting.
Your Role

Provide dedicated 2:1 support tailored to the child’s individual needs

Support communication through alternative and augmentative approaches

Help the child navigate routines, transitions, and behaviour in a calm and predictable way

Promote independence, engagement, and essential life skills

Track progress and share observations with teaching staff and specialists

Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure consistent support
About You

Experience supporting children with autism and complex needs

Calm, patient, and confident when responding to behaviour

Strong understanding of autism and communication differences
