We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEND Learning Support Assistant to provide 2:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with autism who is non-verbal. This role is ideal for someone who understands that progress is built on patience, consistency, and truly knowing the child you are supporting.
You will be instrumental in helping the pupil feel safe, regulated, and able to access learning throughout the school day, supporting communication, independence, and confidence within a calm and structured environment.
What You Will Do
- Provide tailored 2:1 support to meet the child’s individual needs
- Support communication using alternative and augmentative methods
- Guide the pupil through routines, transitions, and behaviour calmly and predictably
- Promote independence, engagement, and essential life skills
- Observe and track progress, sharing insights with teachers and specialists
- Collaborate closely with teaching staff, therapists, and families to ensure consistent support

- Calm, patient, and confident in responding to behaviour
- Strong understanding of autism and communication differences
