This Behaviour Support Assistant role within a specialist SEMH provision in Brent offers the opportunity to become a calm, consistent and trusted adult for pupils who require structure, understanding and positive guidance to succeed in education.

This specialist setting supports children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, many of whom have experienced barriers to learning and require tailored behavioural and emotional support. The school provides a structured, nurturing and therapeutic environment focused on regulation, relationships and re engagement with learning.

The Role
• Provide one to one and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs
• Use calm de escalation, restorative and trauma informed approaches to support behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Support pupils during lessons, transitions and unstructured times
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and pastoral teams to implement personalised behaviour and support plans
• Help pupils develop coping strategies, resilience, emotional literacy and positive relationships
• Promote emotional safety, engagement and inclusion throughout the school day

• Supports pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and associated behavioural challenges
• Strong focus on emotional regulation, wellbeing and personalised learning
• Structured routines with therapeutic and relational approaches
• Highly collaborative team including teachers, behaviour specialists and pastoral staff
• Ongoing training, supervision and CPD
