The role
As a Behaviour Support Assistant you will be at the heart of the school’s mission helping pupils regulate engage and succeed both academically and emotionally. You will work closely with experienced teachers therapists and support staff to create a safe structured and nurturing environment where students can thrive.
You will not just be supporting behaviour you will be building trust developing resilience and unlocking potential.
What you will be doing
Supporting pupils on a one to one and small group basis
Helping to de escalate challenging situations with calm consistent strategies
Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
Assisting with tailored learning activities
Acting as a role model firm fair and compassionate
Who this role suits
You do not need to come from a traditional school background. Some of the strongest candidates come from
Youth work or mentoring
Care or support work
Sports coaching
Psychology or criminology backgrounds
Anyone with personal experience of SEMH / ASC and a resilience, empathy and genuine passion for helping young people
