An opportunity to work within a large all through SEND School for an experienced and resilient Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, the role is to support a KS3/KS4 male student with ASC within a semi-formal classroom in a special school. The student is primarily based in a dedicated classroom space, with planned opportunities to take part in shared activities such as cooking and life skills. The role involves supporting a young person who can present with complex behaviours, including absconding and physical aggression. While a familiar and supportive team is in place, the need to feel confident managing behaviours that can be unpredictable is essential This is a rewarding but challenging position, best suited to someone with strong experience supporting pupils with additional needs and complex behaviours. You can deliver consistent PBS strategies and use Team Teach (or similar) approaches where required, working closely with colleagues to maintain a safe and structured environment. This role offers the opportunity to make a genuine and measurable difference to a young person’s daily experience and progress, within a supportive and collaborative team.
