Are you experienced supporting children with challenging behaviour and confident staying calm when situations become difficult?
Parker Smith Inclusion is working with a primary school in Thurrock looking for a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.
This role is about more than managing behaviour. You’ll be helping pupils understand their emotions, build positive relationships and feel more confident accessing their education.
About the Role
You’ll work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider pastoral team to provide consistent support throughout the school day.
Your role will include:

Supporting pupils with challenging behaviour

Helping children manage their emotions and behaviour

Building positive and trusting relationships
-
Following agreed behaviour strategies and support plans

Helping pupils stay engaged with learning
-
Supporting pupils both inside and outside the classroom

Helping maintain a calm and safe environment

Working closely with teachers and other support staff
About You
The school is looking for someone with previous experience supporting children with challenging behaviour, ideally within a primary setting.
You’ll need to be:

Calm, patient and consistent

Confident supporting challenging behaviour

Able to build strong relationships with children

Resilient when situations become difficult
-
Reliable and able to work as part of a team

Genuinely passionate about helping children make positive changes
You don’t need to have all the answers, but you do need to be able to remain composed, follow support plans and provide clear boundaries.
