Are you the person who can turn a passion for gaming into a future for students?
Some students struggle to connect with traditional subjects, but put them in front of the right teacher and suddenly, engagement looks completely different.
We are looking for a Specialist E-Sports Teacher who is able to teach the BTEC Curriculum to bring a much-loved interest into a structured, meaningful learning experience for students with additional needs. Someone who can take gaming beyond the screen and turn it into confidence, collaboration, and accredited achievement.
This is not just about teaching Esports, it’s about building something that matters to our students.
The Role
You will be leading a BTEC Esports provision, with the opportunity to support its growth into GCSE-level study in the future. You’ll work with both lower and higher-ability learners, shaping lessons that are accessible, challenging, and purposeful.
For many of our students, having a teacher physically present in the room, guiding, supporting, and connecting is what makes the difference. You’ll be that consistent presence.
The school is a small, close-knit community of around 179 learners. Class sizes are intentionally small, typically 6–10 students, allowing for genuine relationships and individualised support.
Many of the students are autistic, have ADHD, moderate learning difficulties, or have selective mutism. They are curious, creative, and often thrive when learning feels relevant to their interests.
We are looking for someone who can see beyond behaviour or barriers, and instead recognise potential, even when it’s not immediately obvious.
What Your Day Will Look Like
Balance is valued just as much as effort at this school, while the school day runs 8:00am–5:00pm, staff who are up to date with marking and meetings often leave earlier when possible.
You’ll also benefit from:
-
Free daily lunch, tea, and coffee
-
On-site parking for early arrivals, plus nearby free parking options
-
A supportive, close-knit staff culture where people genuinely know each other
This is a place that feels more like a community than a workplace.
Who We’re Looking For
-
A passion for Esports, gaming, or digital learning.
-
The ability to engage students who may have previously struggled in education.
-
Patience, creativity, and strong relationship-building skills.
-
SEND experience is preferable.
The interview process is simple and transparent, an informal conversation followed by a short teaching session with a small group of students, so you can experience the environment first-hand.
