Working closely with the Careers Lead and Assistant Headteacher for Personal Development, you will support the delivery of an engaging careers programme, helping students develop the knowledge, skills and experiences they need for future education, training and employment.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and collaborating with schools, businesses and the wider community.

Key Responsibilities

Careers Education

  • Arrange careers talks, workshops, assemblies and employer visits.

  • Organise careers-related trips and enrichment activities.

  • Develop partnerships with employers, universities, local businesses and community organisations.

Work Experience

  • Coordinate the school's work experience programme and employer placements.

  • Deliver assemblies and tutor sessions to prepare students for work experience.

  • Support students with CV writing, employability skills and one-to-one guidance where required.

  • Train and support tutors in monitoring placements.

  • Use platforms such as Unifrog to monitor progress and maintain accurate records.

  • Complete safeguarding and compliance checks for placements.

Partnership & Student Support

  • Work closely with families, tutors and external partners to support student success.

  • Collaborate with curriculum leaders, the Sixth Form team and enrichment leads to embed careers education across the school.

  • Develop employer links that reflect local labour market opportunities and emerging industries.

  • Follow school procedures relating to safeguarding, attendance, behaviour and finance.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about supporting young people to achieve their aspirations.

  • Has excellent organisational, communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Has experience organising events or working with employers, schools or community organisations.

  • Can manage multiple projects and work independently.

  • Is confident using Microsoft Office and digital systems (experience of Unifrog is desirable).

  • Has a good understanding of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

  • Is proactive, collaborative and committed to providing excellent opportunities for every student.
