As a careers lead and transition coach you will be involved in the wellbeing of the students, their families and other multi-agencies that you will need to collaborate with implement the best support plan for the students educational journey. This will include helping Year 11s with their applications for post-16 and training programmes, providing pastoral support and encouraging them to engage with organisations that will benefit them. As well as this you will play a part in supporting KS3 & 4 to transition back into MS school.
The experience and qualities I am looking for are;
- Minimum Level 2 in English & Maths
- Experience within supporting Post-16 with careers/FE
- Pastoral support or SEMH support experience
- Exposure to children with challenging behaviour
- Genuine empathy for children that may be struggling at school and/or home life
- Empathetic, patient and the ability to meet children where they are not where you expect them to be.
- Understanding and experience of multi-agencies within the community
- Very good administration skills
- Ability to read and/or speak English well.
- Experience within a PRU/SEMH/Nurture setting
- DBS on the UDS or happy to through a new check (must be a clean DBS)
