We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Complex Needs Support Assistant to join a specialist school supporting pupils aged 5–15. This is a rewarding opportunity to work with students with autism, learning disabilities, and physical needs, helping them to thrive both academically and personally.

About the Role

As a Complex Needs Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs. Working closely with teaching staff and therapists, you will help deliver personalised support that enables each child to reach their full potential.

Your role will include supporting students in the classroom, assisting with life skills development, and providing personal care where required. Every day will be different, and your contribution will have a direct and lasting impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students with autism, learning disabilities, and physical needs
  • Assist with the delivery of tailored learning activities
  • Promote independence, communication, and social development
  • Support students with life skills, including daily routines
  • Provide personal care in a respectful and dignified manner
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other professionals
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Caring, patient, and resilient
  • Passionate about supporting children with additional needs
  • Able to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • Proactive and adaptable in a dynamic environment

Experience & Requirements

  • Experience supporting individuals with autism or complex needs (education, care, or charity settings)
  • Background in special educational needs, care work, or relevant voluntary work is highly desirable
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection (or willingness to learn)
  • Team player with strong communication skills
