Complex Needs Support Assistant (Secondary Education) | Hackney | £105 per day PAYE | September start
We are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and experienced Complex Needs Support Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a 16-year-old male student within a specialist educational setting in Hackney. The school has commute links from Islington, Newham, Waltham Forest, Camden and Enfield.
This school is a welcoming and inclusive specialist provision for young people with a wide range of additional needs. They are committed to providing a nurturing, person-centred environment where every student is encouraged to develop their independence, confidence, and individual strengths. Staff work collaboratively with therapists, families, and other professionals to ensure each young person receives the support they need to thrive both academically and personally.
This rewarding role involves supporting a young person with complex physical and learning needs to access education safely, comfortably, and with dignity. The successful candidate will be patient, proactive, and confident in delivering high-quality personal and physical support throughout the school day.
Essential requirements:

Previous experience supporting individuals with complex needs.

Manual handling and hoist training, with practical experience using a hoist.

Experience providing personal care in a respectful, dignified, and person-centred manner.

Ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and the wider multidisciplinary team.

Excellent communication skills and a calm, caring approach.

A commitment to promoting the student's independence, wellbeing, and inclusion.
The setting is equipped with an accessible disabled toilet, enabling personal care to be provided in a safe environment that promotes the student's comfort, privacy, and dignity.

Due to the intimate nature of the personal care required and the need to respect the privacy, dignity, and modesty of the student, this position is open to male applicants only.
