Complex Needs Support Assistant – SEND College

Are you experienced in supporting young people or adults with complex learning disabilities and personal care needs?

We are looking for caring, reliable and experienced support staff for opportunities within a specialist post-16 SEND college environment in Haringey.

You will support young people aged 16–25 with complex SEND needs, helping them participate in education, develop independence and build confidence in everyday life.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting students with severe and profound learning difficulties.

• Providing individualised 1:1 support.

• Assisting with personal care, dignity and hygiene.

• Supporting mobility, moving and handling and hoisting where trained and authorised.

• Supporting students with communication difficulties and sensory needs.

• Encouraging engagement in life skills, classroom and community activities.

• Following individual support plans and safeguarding procedures.

We would love to hear from candidates with experience in:

• SEND schools or specialist colleges.

• Adult learning disability services.

• Residential or supported living services.

• Complex needs or personal care support.

• Autism, physical disabilities or profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD).

You must be compassionate, dependable and committed to treating every student with dignity and respect.
