Complex Needs Teaching Assistant – Barnet

We are working with a supportive specialist school in Barnet that is looking for a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role would suit someone who is patient, caring and confident supporting pupils with a range of complex learning, physical, sensory and communication needs.
You will be supporting pupils who may require help with learning, communication, personal care, emotional regulation and accessing the school day safely and positively.
The role:
- Complex Needs Teaching Assistant
- Barnet location
- Full-time, long-term position
- Supporting pupils with complex needs and additional learning needs
- Working 1:1 and in small groups
- Supporting communication, engagement and independence
- Helping pupils access learning and daily routines
- Working closely with teachers, therapists and the wider SEND team
The ideal person:
- Has experience with SEND, care, support work, youth work or education
- Is patient, nurturing and reliable
- Can support pupils with dignity and respect
- Is comfortable with personal care, where required
- Can celebrate small steps of progress
- Is interested in a career in SEND, therapy, teaching, psychology or care
