Parker Smith Inclusion is working with a remarkable secondary special school that caters to students with a wide range of needs, including Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), sensory processing challenges, and mobility difficulties. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join the team on a full-time, long-term basis.
The Role:
As a Complex Needs TA, you will play a key role in supporting students both in and out of the classroom, helping them to access learning and develop life skills in a safe, nurturing environment. Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting students with personal care needs (toileting, hygiene, etc.)

Assisting with moving and handling in line with individual care plans

Supporting sensory regulation and communication needs

Collaborating with teachers and therapists to implement tailored strategies

Promoting independence, emotional wellbeing, and engagement
Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for individuals with:

Experience working with children or young adults with Autism, SLD, PMLD, or complex physical and sensory needs

An understanding of communication tools such as Makaton or PECS
-
Confidence with personal care and manual handling

First Aid training is highly desirable

A caring, resilient, and team-oriented attitude
