Pay: £90–£100 per day (PAYE)
Contract: Full-time | Temp-to-Perm | Start: ASAP

"No two children learn in the same way — our job is to guide, support, and walk beside them."

A warm and forward-thinking primary school in Havering is seeking a committed Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join their Autism Resource Provision. This specialist hub sits within the mainstream school and offers a calm, nurturing environment where pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition can grow confidently and at a pace that suits them.

In this setting, success is seen in the small steps — every moment of progress is recognised and valued.

Your Role

  • Supporting pupils aged 4–11 within a small, structured classroom

  • Using visual tools, communication aids, and practical strategies to help understanding

  • Encouraging independence through routine, predictability, and clear expectations

  • Helping pupils move smoothly between activities and different parts of the school

  • Collaborating closely with teachers, therapists, and families to maintain consistent support

Who We’re Looking For

  • Experience with autism is helpful, but not essential — backgrounds in care, youth work, playwork, or community roles are welcomed

  • Calm, patient, and reflective — someone who strives to understand behaviour, not just respond to it

  • Comfortable working in an environment built on routine and structure

  • Seeking a meaningful position where you can genuinely make a difference

  • Reliable, compassionate, and eager to continue learning

What the School Provides

  • A well-equipped provision with sensory spaces and specialist materials

  • A close-knit team who support one another professionally and personally

  • Leadership that prioritises staff wellbeing and encourages development

  • Clear progression routes into teaching and specialist SEND roles
