Are you passionate about supporting children with complex needs? A welcoming primary school in Havering is looking for a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join their Autism Resource Provision. Here, every child’s journey is valued, and progress, big or small, is celebrated.
This provision within a mainstream school provides a calm and structured environment where pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition can learn in ways that suit them best.
What You Will Do

Support children aged 4 to 11 in a small and nurturing setting

Use visual aids, communication tools, and practical strategies to help pupils engage

Reinforce routines and clear expectations to create a sense of security

Assist pupils as they move between lessons, activities, and school spaces

Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to provide consistent support
Who We Are Looking For

Experience with autism or SEND is useful but not essential
-
Backgrounds in care, youth work, early years, or community support are highly valued

Calm, patient, and reflective, with a focus on understanding behaviour
-
Comfortable in a structured and routine based environment

Compassionate, reliable, and eager to develop skills further
