Salary: £90 – £100 per day (dependent on experience)
We are currently recruiting dedicated and resilient Complex Needs Teaching Assistants to support pupils across specialist provisions and mainstream schools in Barnet.
This role is ideal for individuals with experience supporting children with profound, multiple, and complex learning needs who are passionate about inclusive education.
The Role:
As a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with complex learning, physical, and medical needs

Support pupils with PMLD, SLD, ASD, sensory processing difficulties, and physical disabilities
-
Assist with personal care, feeding, and mobility (where required)

Implement care plans, EHCPs, and specialist support programmes

Use communication tools such as PECS, Makaton, and visual timetables
-
Support emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies
-
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and SENCOs
The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have experience working with complex needs, PMLD, or SEND (school, care, or healthcare settings)

Be confident supporting personal care and medical needs (training provided)

Be calm, patient, and highly empathetic

Have strong teamwork and communication skills

Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to obtain one)

Have the right to work in the UK
Relevant qualifications (SEND Level 2/3, Health & Social Care, Psychology, or Nursing background) are desirable but not essential.
