We're looking for someone who wants to make a genuine difference to the lives of children with complex additional needs at a specialist SEND school in Havering. This isn't a role where you'll spend the day sitting at the back of a classroom. You'll be part of every success, every breakthrough and every challenge.
Some days you'll be helping a child communicate something they've never been able to express before. Other days you'll be celebrating a tiny achievement that means the world to them and their family.
It's incredibly rewarding, but it's important to be honest too.
This role involves providing personal care and supporting pupils during times of dyregulation. These are an essential part of the role, so we're looking for someone who is confident getting involved and understands that dignity, trust and encouragement are just as important as learning in the classroom.
You don't need to have worked in a specialist school before.
You might currently work in care and be looking for a new challenge.
You might have supported a family member with additional needs and understand the patience and resilience it takes.
Or perhaps you're already working as a Teaching Assistant in a mainstream school and feel you'd thrive in a setting where the environment, resources and staffing are designed specifically for children with SEND.
