An opportunity to work within a large SEND School supporting KS3/KS4 students within a vocational construction pathway.
This part-time role is ideal for someone with a background in construction, trades, or practical vocational learning who is passionate about supporting young people with additional needs.
The School and Role:
- This role will involve supporting the Construction Teacher in delivering BTEC Level 1 courses to Key Stage 4 students
- This is a hands-on role where you will demonstrate trade skills, supervise tool use, and mentor students who have experienced barriers to learning in mainstream education
- The role involves supporting students during practical construction sessions, helping to develop their engagement, confidence, employability skills, and independence within a structured and supportive environment
- Students may present with SEMH needs, ASC, and behaviours that can at times be challenging, so resilience, consistency, and strong relationship-building skills are essential
- You will work closely with teaching staff to support learners with practical activities such as basic carpentry, tool handling, health & safety awareness, and workshop-based learning
- The ability to remain calm, encourage positive behaviour, and adapt to individual learning needs is key
