Parker Smith Inclusion is supporting the recruitment of an enthusiastic and skilled Core Subject Teacher and/or PE Teacher to join a supportive, relationships-first educational setting in South Woodham Ferrers. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to children and young people with complex SEMH needs and other SEND.
The Role:
You will deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in your specialist subject or across the primary curriculum, ensuring pupils develop the skills and knowledge they need to succeed. Working closely with therapists and colleagues, you will help embed a therapeutic, relationships-first approach while supporting pupils’ academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and teach well-structured, challenging lessons tailored to pupils’ individual needs.

Inspire, motivate, and engage pupils by building strong, trusting relationships.

Maintain a positive, calm, and well-resourced classroom environment.

Monitor and assess pupils’ academic and SEMH progress, maintaining clear records and reports.

Contribute to pastoral care, extra-curricular activities, and educational visits.

Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to support pupils’ learning and wellbeing.

Uphold safeguarding, data protection, and school policies at all times.
Skills & Experience:

Qualified teacher (QTS) or equivalent, with experience or working towards QTS.

Degree in a core subject or relevant area.
-
Experience teaching pupils with SEMH needs, SEND, or challenging behaviour.
-
Strong communication, classroom management, and organisational skills.
-
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Knowledge of the national curriculum and Teachers’ Standards.
