Cover Supervisor - Secondary PRU Setting

Parker Smith Inclusion have been working with a Secondary PRU based in North Woolwich that are seeking a new Cover Supervisor, this role will require you to be essentially a duty of care officer being the first person present when issues/conflict could arise either inside or outside the classroom, monitioring behaviour, keeping track of attendance and occasionally stepping into the classroom to cover/supervise the students when a teacher is not present. (There is no lesson prep required it will be prepared for you)_.
As this is an alternavtive provision setting for secondary aged students that have been removed from mainstream either temporarily or permanently you can expect to be supporting students with vulnerable backgrounds, may of been exposed to trauma or adverse childhood, may be involved in the wrong crowds and require guidance and someone that can believe in them to keep them on the right track. These learners will be aiming to get a B-Tech or Level 1 - 2 but may not be able to get a GCSE, their lessons will involve a lot of practical skills to promote enagement.
The candidate I'm looking for will have experience in the following;
- SEMH or PRU experience is preferred.
- Resillient
- Patient
- Empathetic
- Experience with attendance, behaviour mentoring plans
- Worked with families of students that have school avoidance
- Experience with young people that have SEMH needs
- Confident to de-escalate
- Very strong communication skills
- Approachable personality with no judgement
