Early Years Learning Support Assistant – SEND
Location: Havering
Full time | Monday to Friday | Term time
We are seeking a nurturing and enthusiastic Early Years Learning Support Assistant to work within a mainstream primary school, supporting young children during their most critical developmental years.
In this role, you will support pupils with early developmental delay, autism, communication needs and sensory processing difficulties, helping them access learning through play-based, child-centred approaches.
You will work closely with teachers and therapists to support communication, emotional regulation and early independence skills, creating a safe and engaging environment where children can thrive.
Early intervention changes lives. With consistent support, children who once struggled to communicate or regulate emotions can develop confidence, routines and positive relationships. Your role will help lay the foundation for long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
- Support early years pupils through play-based learning
- Assist with communication, sensory regulation and routine building
- Support personal care where required
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional development
