We are working with a lovely special school in Croydon, which is looking for a caring and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a class with high support needs.
They are looking for someone who can support children as they take their first steps into school, helping them feel confident, settled and ready to learn. Within this role you will be working closely with teachers, families and other support staff to help celebrate pupils’ milestones and adapt their lessons and education to meet their individual needs. The pupils you will be supporting will have a range of additional needs, these may include Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Speech and Language Difficulties, as well as Sensory and Communication Differences.
Early Years is such an important stage in a child’s development. The little things can make the biggest difference. A calm voice, a reassuring presence, helping a child join in with an activity or celebrating those small wins can have a huge impact on how they feel about school.
You will be supporting children with their early development, communication, confidence and emotional regulation. Some children may need a little extra support with routines, transitions or managing their emotions, and they need someone who can be patient, consistent and understanding.
The Role:
- Supporting students on a 121 basis and across the classroom
- Working with children who learn at an early years level, and have a range of learning needs
