Early Years Practitioner – SEND & Complex Needs

Hours: Full-time

Do you have a passion for early years education and experience supporting children with additional needs?

Parker Smith Inclusion is looking for a nurturing, patient and experienced Early Years Practitioner to work within an East London school, supporting young children with a range of SEND and complex needs.

This role would suit someone who understands that every child develops differently and can create meaningful learning opportunities through play, sensory exploration and individualised support.

About the Role

You will support children with a range of needs, including cognitive delays, speech and language difficulties, sensory needs and complex SEND. You will help create a safe, engaging environment where children can develop their communication, independence and early learning skills at their own pace.

Responsibilities will include:

• Supporting play-based and sensory learning activities.
• Encouraging communication, interaction and early developmental skills.
• Supporting children with cognitive delays and complex needs.
• Following individual learning and support plans.
• Helping children develop independence and confidence.
• Working collaboratively with teachers and other support staff.
• Providing personal care where required, including intimate care, in line with school policies.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

• Experienced in early years education and supporting children with SEND.
• Patient, nurturing and attentive to individual needs.
• Confident supporting children with speech, language and communication difficulties.
• Creative in using play and sensory activities to engage children.
• Comfortable providing personal care.
• Reliable, proactive and passionate about early childhood development.

Experience within a specialist SEND setting, nursery or early years provision supporting children with complex needs would be highly desirable.
