Are you an experienced and nurturing Early Years Teacher with a passion for supporting children with complex needs?
A specialist school in Enfield is seeking a compassionate and creative Early Years Teacher to join their team this September. The school supports pupils aged 3–11 with a wide range of complex needs, including severe learning difficulties, Autism, and profound and multiple learning disabilities.
This role is based in the Early Years phase of the school and would suit a teacher with a strong understanding of early child development and inclusive practice.
About the role:
- Leading a small class of pupils in the Early Years Foundation Stage with complex needs
- Delivering a sensory and play-based curriculum tailored to individual learning profiles
- Working closely with a multidisciplinary team including therapists, nurses, and support staff
- Using strategies such as PECS, Makaton, intensive interaction, and sensory integration
- Creating a calm, structured, and nurturing environment where all children can thrive
- Supporting children with personal care and medical needs (training provided)
Ideal candidate profile:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or EYTS)
- Experience teaching in Early Years and/or within a SEND setting
- Strong knowledge of early development, play-based learning, and communication strategies
- Patient, flexible, and able to build trusting relationships with children and families
- Confident in working as part of a wider team including teaching assistants and therapists
