Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant

We are supporting a welcoming SEND school in Enfield that works with children from Early Years through to Year 4. It is a place where every pupil is celebrated as an individual, and where staff take pride in providing personalised support that truly makes a difference. Many of the children have autism or complex needs, and the school is especially keen to welcome Early Years or Primary practitioners who understand the importance of early, nurturing intervention.

The school is built on teamwork, calm communication, and a commitment to staff wellbeing. It’s the kind of setting where you feel supported, valued, and encouraged to grow.

Your Role in Their Early School Journey

As an Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll be part of shaping a child’s very first experiences of education. You may work 1:1 with a young pupil who needs help understanding routines, managing sensory needs, communicating, or engaging in learning through play. You will be the reassuring presence that helps them feel safe, the patient support who celebrates every small step, and the consistent voice that builds their confidence day by day.

You can expect:

  • A warm, friendly team who work closely together and truly value the role you play
  • The chance to work 1:1 with a child and in small groups, making a direct and meaningful impact on their school experience
  • Ongoing training and development to support your professional growth
  • A school culture that prioritises inclusion, high-quality teaching and staff wellbeing
  • Long-term opportunities with potential for permanent roles
  • Support and guidance if you hope to progress into teacher training

This is a wonderful opportunity for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants looking for a meaningful, long-term role in a nurturing Early Years environment. It is equally suited to aspiring teachers seeking hands-on experience and development.
