Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant (Level 2 or 3 Preferred)
Havering | Temp to Perm Opportunity After 12 Weeks
September Start - £90 - £100 per day PAYE
Not every child starts their educational journey in the same place.
Some children arrive bursting with confidence and conversation. Others need time, patience, understanding and the right people around them to help unlock their potential. For some children, learning to communicate a need, tolerate a new experience, build a friendship, regulate an emotion or join in with a group activity can be every bit as significant as learning to read and write.
We are seeking a nurturing, resilient and creative Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant to join a highly inclusive and supportive primary setting in Havering. Due to safeguarding requirements, the school must remain anonymous until the interview stage, but this is a school where relationships come first, individuality is celebrated and every child is supported to achieve their very best.
This role is ideal for someone who understands that outstanding SEND support is not about doing things for children; it is about helping them discover what they can do for themselves.
You will be supporting pupils within the Early Years Foundation Stage who present with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition, speech and language difficulties, sensory processing needs, social communication differences and developmental delays. Working closely with teachers, SEN professionals and families, you will play a vital role in helping children access learning, develop independence and build the confidence they need to thrive both inside and outside of the classroom.
The successful candidate will be just as comfortable joining a child on the carpet for a story as they are creating engaging sensory activities, supporting communication through visuals and play-based learning, modelling social interaction, celebrating small but significant milestones and adapting learning experiences to meet individual needs. They will understand that progress is rarely linear and that patience, consistency and positivity can have a lifelong impact on a child's future.
We are looking for someone who can bring warmth, energy and creativity into every interaction. Someone who sees possibility where others see barriers. Someone who understands that a child's first independent sentence, successful transition, meaningful friendship or moment of self-belief can be transformational.
Ideally, you will hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years, Childcare or Supporting Teaching and Learning and have previous experience working within EYFS and/or SEND environments. However, equally important is a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs, an ability to build positive relationships and a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
In return, you will join a dedicated and welcoming team who are committed to providing exceptional support for their pupils and staff alike. This role offers the opportunity to become a permanent member of the school community after a successful 12-week period, alongside access to ongoing professional development and invaluable experience within a specialist SEND-focused environment.
This is more than a Teaching Assistant role. It is an opportunity to be part of a child's earliest successes, to help build the foundations for future learning and to make a meaningful difference every single day.
If you believe every child deserves the opportunity to be understood, valued and successful, we would love to hear from you.
