Are you an experienced Educational Youth Worker, Youth Mentor or Behaviour Support Worker looking for a school-based role in Wembley?
We are working in partnership with specialist SEN schools and alternative provisions across Wembley, North West London, who are recruiting Educational Youth Workers to support pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs. These schools support children and young people who benefit from consistent relationships, positive role models and structured pastoral support.
This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with a background in youth work, mentoring, behaviour support, sports coaching or community engagement to move into education and make a long-term impact.
About the Role
As an Educational Youth Worker, you will work directly with pupils who may display challenging behaviour, emotional regulation difficulties or disengagement from learning. You will help pupils feel safe, supported and motivated, enabling them to engage positively with school life.
You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams and external professionals to support pupils both in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring to support behaviour, emotional regulation and wellbeing
Build strong, trusting relationships that promote engagement and positive change
Support pupils in the classroom to improve focus, participation and behaviour
Deliver structured interventions to promote self-esteem and resilience
Support the development of social and communication skills
Act as a consistent, positive role model throughout the school day
Encourage participation in enrichment activities including sport, creative and outdoor learning
Support pupils during transitions, breaktimes and unstructured periods

Essential Requirements
Experience working with children or young people with behavioural, social or emotional needs
Background in youth work, mentoring, education support or community roles
Calm, empathetic and resilient approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Commitment to safeguarding and supporting pupil wellbeing
