EHCP Support Assistant – Primary SEN | Cricklewood

Location: Cricklewood, North West London
Pay: £95–£110 per day PAYE
Job Type: Full time, term time only
Contract: Temp to perm
Setting: Mainstream primary school with a dedicated SEN provision

About the role

Every child with an EHCP has individual needs, targets and outcomes. The right support can make the difference between a child simply getting through the school day and genuinely being able to learn, participate and make progress.

A primary school in Cricklewood is looking for an experienced and compassionate EHCP Support Assistant to provide consistent one-to-one and small-group support to pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

This is a role for someone who understands that effective SEND support is about more than sitting beside a pupil. It is about understanding their plan, adapting your approach and helping them develop the skills to become more independent.

The setting

The school has a dedicated SEN provision and a strong focus on supporting pupils with additional needs effectively.

You will work alongside an experienced SENCO, class teachers and other support staff to ensure pupils' EHCP targets are reflected in their everyday learning and development.

The environment is supportive and collaborative, with a clear focus on individual progress and inclusion.

The role

As an EHCP Support Assistant, you will:

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with EHCPs

  • Help pupils access the curriculum through appropriate adaptations

  • Support communication, emotional regulation and social development

  • Deliver targeted interventions as directed by the SENCO or class teacher

  • Follow individual EHCP targets and outcomes

  • Monitor and record pupil progress accurately

  • Support pupils to develop confidence, independence and learning skills

  • Work closely with teachers, the SENCO and families where appropriate

  • Help create a positive, inclusive and supportive classroom environment

Who we are looking for

This role would suit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or someone with relevant experience in primary or specialist education.

You may have worked with:

  • Pupils with EHCPs

  • Children with additional learning needs

  • SEN or inclusion provisions

  • Mainstream primary pupils requiring targeted support

  • Early years or specialist settings

You will be:

  • Patient, organised and compassionate

  • Confident following individual support plans

  • Able to adapt your approach to different learning needs

  • Strong at building positive relationships

  • Committed to promoting independence rather than creating dependence

  • Able to communicate effectively with teachers and SEN professionals

  • Reliable and consistent in your approach

Why this role matters

For a child with an EHCP, the quality of their daily support can have a significant impact on their ability to access learning and work towards their outcomes.

Progress in SEND is not always measured through grades.

It might be a pupil communicating more confidently, completing a task independently, managing their emotions or successfully joining an activity they previously found difficult.

As an EHCP Support Assistant, you can be the consistent adult helping those moments happen.

What you can expect

  • £95–£110 per day PAYE

  • Full time, term time only

  • Temp to perm opportunity

  • Dedicated primary SEN provision

  • Ongoing CPD and professional development

  • Experience supporting EHCPs and individual outcomes

  • Support from experienced education and SEND professionals

  • Full recruitment support from Parker Smith Inclusion

  • Transparent PAYE employment with no umbrella company deductions
