Are you an experienced ELSA or someone with a strong background in supporting children and young people with social, emotional and mental health needs?
We are working with a specialist school in North London that supports pupils who require a nurturing, consistent and relationship-led approach to education. The school works with students who may have experienced barriers to learning, emotional dysregulation, trauma, anxiety, low self-esteem or challenges with behaviour.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who understands the importance of emotional literacy, trust-building and helping young people feel safe, understood and ready to learn.
The Role:
Supporting pupils with emotional literacy, regulation and wellbeing
Delivering targeted ELSA-style interventions on a 1:1 and small group basis
Helping students develop confidence, resilience and positive coping strategies
Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff and the wider support team
Supporting pupils both in and outside of the classroom where needed
Building strong, consistent and meaningful relationships with young people
The Ideal Candidate:
ELSA trained or experienced in delivering emotional literacy support
Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, anxiety, trauma or challenging behaviour
Calm, patient, resilient and able to build trust quickly
Confident supporting students who may struggle to regulate their emotions
Passionate about making a genuine difference in a specialist setting
Available full-time from September
This role would suit an experienced ELSA, pastoral support worker, behaviour mentor, SEMH TA or someone with a strong background in therapeutic or emotional wellbeing support.
