SEMH Teaching Assistant
Specialist SEMH School | Westminster, Central London
If you are looking for a role where relationships come before routines and emotional safety sits at the centre of every day, this SEMH Teaching Assistant position in Westminster could be the right next step.
This specialist setting supports children and young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, often shaped by trauma, anxiety, attachment differences, and disrupted education. Pupils here need consistent, emotionally intelligent adults who can hold boundaries with calm, empathy, and clarity.
This role is not easy. It is meaningful, challenging, and genuinely life changing for the young people you support.
Why this role stands out
You are not stepping into a busy mainstream classroom.
You are joining a specialist SEMH environment where behaviour is understood as communication, relationships are prioritised, and staff are trained to respond with structure, care, and emotional intelligence.
You will work alongside experienced teachers, therapists, and pastoral professionals who are deeply rooted in trauma informed practice, emotional regulation, and attachment aware approaches. The experience you gain here will shape your practice for years to come.
