Parker Smith Inclusion is supporting an Alternative Provision in the London Borough of Harrow that is seeking an experienced English Teacher to join their dedicated and supportive team. This role is suited to an English Teacher with experience supporting pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs).
This Alternative Provision supports pupils who are unable to access mainstream education, including those who may have experienced significant disruption to their learning or past trauma. Small class sizes, relationship-based practice and consistency are central to the provision’s approach.
Type of candidate we are looking for:
• QTS or QTLS is desirable but not essential
• Ability to build strong, trusting relationships while maintaining clear professional boundaries
• Strong knowledge of the English national curriculum
• Experience adapting English lessons to engage reluctant learners and meet a wide range of academic and emotional needs
• Confident behaviour management skills using a calm, consistent approach that promotes structure, respect and positive choices
