We are seeking a Teacher who has experience supporting young people with medical and/or mental health needs to teach students in Key Stage 3 & Kay Stage 4 with English and Maths at Functional Skills level and GCSE's. The school educates students with medical needs and mental health challenges, offering a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment tailored to their individual circumstances.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Maths and English to students at Functional Skills and GCSE levels.
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Support students in overcoming barriers to education, fostering confidence and resilience.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including medical and mental health professionals, to support each student’s holistic development.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
- Contribute to the creation of a positive, safe, and inclusive school culture.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Have experience teaching Maths and English to Functional Skills and GCSE levels.
- Be passionate about supporting young people with medical needs and mental health challenges.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with students and colleagues.
- Be adaptable, patient, and empathetic, with a strong commitment to inclusive education.
- Have knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
