Parker Smith Inclusion are working in partnership with a highly supportive and inclusive Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) based in Harlow, Essex. We are seeking a passionate and resilient English Teacher to join their team from September 2025.
This role is available on either a temp to perm or permanent basis, offering a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have faced challenges accessing mainstream education.
About the Role:

Delivering English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 to small class sizes (typically 6–10 pupils)

Planning and delivering tailored, engaging lessons that develop literacy and re-engage learners with education

Working collaboratively with support staff and colleagues to personalise learning for individual needs

Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils and maintaining a consistent, nurturing approach

For the right candidate, there is potential to progress into a Head of English role as the school continues to expand

The Ideal Candidate Will:
-
Hold QTS or QTLS – unqualified teachers with substantial experience in SEMH or alternative provisions may also be considered

Have excellent subject knowledge in English, and confidence teaching across KS3 and KS4

Demonstrate strong classroom management and a nurturing teaching style

Be passionate about working with vulnerable or disengaged learners, supporting both academic and emotional progress

Be open to progression, with ambition to develop leadership responsibilities in the future
