Parker Smith Inclusion is recruiting an English Teacher Lead for a specialist SEMH setting in Barnet.
This opportunity would suit an experienced English Teacher who combines strong subject knowledge with the ability to adapt teaching for pupils who may not have had a straightforward experience of education.
The role
You will take a leading role in English provision while continuing to teach directly.
Responsibilities may include:

Planning and delivering engaging English lessons

Leading curriculum development within the subject

Supporting pupils working across different academic levels

Adapting teaching around SEND and SEMH

Supporting progress towards appropriate qualifications

Monitoring attainment and progress
-
Sharing effective practice with colleagues

Contributing to wider teaching and learning

Creating a classroom culture where reluctant learners can succeed
Who are we looking for?
Essential:
-
QTS
-
Strong English subject knowledge
-
Experience teaching secondary-aged pupils
-
Ability to differentiate effectively
-
Strong classroom and behaviour management
-
Understanding of how SEMH can affect engagement with learning
Highly desirable:
-
Previous subject leadership
-
SEMH or SEND experience
-
Alternative provision experience
-
Experience supporting pupils with disrupted education
