EXPERIENCED LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT – COMPLEX SEND
£100 PER DAY PAYE | ASAP START | LONG-TERM | PRIMARY
Parker Smith Inclusion is recruiting on behalf of primary school for an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work 1:1 with a KS1 pupil with complex SEND.
This is a role for someone with genuine hands-on experience supporting children with complex communication and developmental needs.
The pupil has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Global Developmental Delay (GDD). They are pre-verbal and uses PECS to communicate.
The school is looking for someone who understands how to support a child who is not communicating through speech and who can use alternative communication methods consistently throughout the school day.
What we're looking for
You must have previous experience working directly with children who are:
- Autistic
- Pre-verbal or non-verbal
- Using PECS or another form of AAC
- Working significantly below age-related expectations
- Presenting with complex developmental needs
You need to be able to communicate effectively with a child who cannot simply tell you what they need, recognise changes in behaviour and engagement, and adapt your approach accordingly.
