EYFS 1:1 Teaching Assistant – SEND Support

Parker Smith Inclusion is recruiting an EYFS 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a young child with additional needs within an inclusive school in Barnet.
This role would suit someone who is warm, patient and observant, and who understands that effective 1:1 support in EYFS is about building confidence and independence rather than doing everything for the child.
What will you be doing?
You will provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day, helping the child access learning, routines and play in a way that feels manageable and positive.
Your responsibilities may include:

Supporting learning through play

Helping with transitions and classroom routines

Encouraging communication and interaction

Supporting emotional regulation
-
Reinforcing strategies agreed by the class teacher and SEND team

Helping the child engage alongside peers

Supporting personal development and independence

Breaking activities into manageable steps

Providing reassurance without creating unnecessary reliance
Who are we looking for?
Essential:

Experience working with young children

A calm, nurturing and patient approach

Confidence supporting additional needs

Strong communication skills

Reliable full-time availability
Desirable:

EYFS or nursery experience

Previous 1:1 support

SEND experience
-
Autism or communication-needs experience

Experience supporting personal care where required
