We are recruiting on behalf of a mainstream primary school that are seeking a midday assistant within their Early Years department, to support them at lunch times and there will be students that have SEND needs and could need assistant with feeding. 

This is an opportunity to play a meaningful part in preparing young students on a part time basis to be able to work around your own little ones and their school drop off and pick up. 

The Role

Working alongside teachers, therapists, and specialist support staff, you will help learners access education and develop the practical, social, and communication skills they need for adulthood.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting learners within classroom and vocational activities
  • Providing one-to-one and small group support
  • Assisting with life skills and independence programmes
  • Encouraging social interaction and positive engagement
  • Supporting learners during break and transition periods
  • Helping young people develop confidence, resilience, and self-advocacy skills
  • Promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Previous SEND experience is beneficial but not essential. Full training and ongoing support will be provided for the right candidate.
