Early Years Teaching Assistant
Brentwood | Full Time | September 2026
We are looking for an Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Brentwood from September.
This would suit someone who has experience working in the Early Years and enjoys being part of a busy classroom where no two days are quite the same.
The role
You’ll be working closely with the class teacher to support children throughout the day, helping them get involved in activities, develop their independence and build confidence in the classroom.
You’ll support children with their communication, social skills and early learning, as well as helping with observations and assessment in line with the EYFS framework.
The role is very much about getting to know the children and understanding what they need. You’ll be someone they can rely on, whether that means helping them settle in, encouraging them to join an activity or giving them a little extra support when they need it.
We’re looking for someone who
• Has previous experience working with children in an Early Years setting
• Is patient, caring and approachable
• Builds positive relationships easily
• Is reliable and works well as part of a team
• Has a good understanding of EYFS
• Takes a calm and consistent approach to supporting children
You don’t need to have years of experience or be the most confident person in the classroom. If you enjoy working with young children, are willing to get stuck in and genuinely care about helping them learn and develop, we’d like to hear from you.
