Early Years Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about helping young children learn, grow and develop?

We are currently recruiting for an Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive setting in Havering from September 2026.

This would be a great opportunity for someone with EYFS experience who enjoys creating positive relationships with children and wants to play an active role in their early development.

About the Role

Working alongside the teaching team, you'll help create a safe, engaging and stimulating environment where children can learn through both structured activities and play.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Supporting children during lessons, activities and play
• Encouraging communication, social development and independence
• Helping children engage positively with their learning
• Providing individual support based on children's needs
• Building strong and trusting relationships with pupils
• Assisting with observations and assessments in line with the EYFS framework
• Working closely with teachers and other members of the team
• Helping maintain a welcoming and inclusive learning environment

You'll have the opportunity to get to know the children individually, understand what helps them thrive and provide the encouragement they need to feel confident, settled and ready to learn.

What We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from candidates who have previous Early Years or EYFS experience and who genuinely enjoy working with young children.

You'll ideally be:

• Warm, caring and patient
• Confident supporting children in an Early Years environment
• A strong communicator who can build positive relationships
• Reliable, organised and committed
• Comfortable working collaboratively as part of a team
• Passionate about children's learning and development
• Familiar with the principles and framework of EYFS

You don't need to be the most outgoing person in the room.

What matters is that you're attentive, dependable and genuinely invested in helping children develop.

The Setting

You'll be joining a friendly and collaborative team that places children's wellbeing and development at the centre of its work.

The staff work closely together to provide children with a positive introduction to education and to create an environment where they can feel secure, curious and encouraged to explore.
