Temp to Perm

Date Posted: Monday 12 October 2026

, Ref: 14407

Location: Brentwood, Essex
Pay: £95–£100 per day PAYE
Contract: Full-time, term-time only

Those early years lay the foundations for everything that follows.

Learning to share, finding the confidence to speak up, making friends and discovering something new for the first time — these might seem like small moments, but they're important steps in a child's development.

We're looking for an Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Brentwood, supporting young children as they settle into school, explore their surroundings and develop the skills they'll carry with them as they grow.

If you enjoy working with young children and want to play a part in those early milestones, this could be a great opportunity.

What will you be doing?

You'll work alongside the class teacher to create a positive learning environment where children feel comfortable, included and encouraged to have a go.

Your day could involve helping children get involved in activities, encouraging them to communicate with others or giving extra support to someone who needs a little more time to settle.

You'll also:

  • Support learning through play and classroom activities

  • Help children develop their speech, language and social skills

  • Encourage independence, confidence and curiosity

  • Support daily routines and help children feel settled

  • Provide additional help to children who need it

  • Contribute to observations and assessments in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

  • Build positive relationships with children, teachers and colleagues

You'll be helping children learn at their own pace, celebrating their progress and making sure they feel supported as they develop.

Who are we looking for?

Ideally, you'll have experience working with young children and a basic understanding of the EYFS framework. However, you don't need years of experience to be considered.

We're looking for someone who is caring, patient and approachable, with the ability to build trust and make learning enjoyable.

You'll need to be reliable, work well as part of a team and be happy to get involved in all aspects of the classroom day.

Above all, you'll genuinely enjoy helping young children learn new things and grow in confidence.
